This session designed by Income Movement, a national organization focused on coordinating the basic income movement and empowering grassroots advocacy will be sharing with students the current landscape we face in the US and how basic income is a necessary tool of the solidarity economy movement. Students will have an opportunity to hear from a local guaranteed income program in Humboldt County featuring Robin Baker who will share information and learnings from their guaranteed income program, and what next steps for the region will be. As we all come from the Plenary session of the Next System Teach in, in this session students will explore with us ways that basic income and its movement can support the solidarity economy.
